If you still think that virtual guitars that you play by touching the screen can't be dynamic, expressive, and powerfully musical, then you haven't tried this app. Like some other well-known music apps, it uses the accelerometers to measure touch force and control MIDI velocity, but unlike them, this app actually feels like you are playing on a force-sensitive surface. If you don't believe us, download its free younger brother, Bass Guitar One and try it out.
Same expressive playing interface as iFretless Bass, but with saxophone sounds. It has the whole family of saxophones and it works with EWI controllers.
Same expressive playing interface as iFretless Bass, but with guitar sounds, both electric and acoustic. It also has some guitar effects for spicing up the sound.
Same expressive playing interface as iFretless Bass, but with brass sounds. It has a complete collection including Trombone, Trumpet, Tuba, French Horn, Euphonium, Muted Trumpet, and some synth brass sounds.
A simple, light weight 6-band parametric EQ with a visualizer. The most affordable EQ plugin on the app store.
This plugin does stereo delay like no other. The pan position of each and every echo is different. The controls are bare-bones simple but the sound is so musical.
Converts a mono input to a wide stereo output without making it sound echoey and muddy. It uses a set of randomised stereo decorrelators that produce a very natural sounding stereo field that can be static or modulated by an LFO.
Mix Bus Compressor
We tested 20 of the best compressor plugins available on iOS and found this one has significantly lower harmonic distortion than any of the others. If you are looking for a compressor that regulates the volume and adds punch without affecting the tone in other ways, this plugin is as good as it gets.
Stereo Width Control
Has up to four bands of independent control over stereo width and a vectorscope to monitor the results. When you want stereo width that sounds good in the midrange but doesn't sacrifice any punch on the low end, this is the tool for the job.
Simulates sound propagation delay along with volume and tonal differences for each ear so that when wearing headphones you perceive the sound in the L and R channels coming from the speaker location you set on the screen. It also has LFO modulated sound source movement for interesting spatial movement effects.
Stratosphere Cloud Reverb
STRATOSPHERE CLOUD REVERB is an audio unit plugin effect inspired by the Cloud Reverb patch in a very well-loved modern classic reverb pedal. Our friends love using it to create long, immersive, modulated spaces with wide stereo fields and extremely smooth reverb onset.
Attack Softener is an effect that fades the beginning of each note you play to remove the attack transient. This allows you to make synth-like sounds in real-time with almost any instrument (guitar, bass, piano, etc.)
Visual Mixer is an audio unit plugin that puts the volume and pan controls for all your tracks together into one simple interface. It can also be used as a replacement for submix groups in DAW host apps that don't support submixes.
Stereo Lag Time
This is a free audio unit plugin that puts a small delay between the left and right channels. This simple effect breathes life into mono tracks. It's amazingly effective and very easy to use.
Noise Gate & Downward Expander
A noise gate is a standard tool in a musician's arsenal. This one stands out for two reasons. First, it has very low harmonic distortion, and second, it has downward expansion modes that sound much more natural than a standard noise gate because they don't abruptly cut off the tail of each note.
This is a clever way to add velocity sensitivity to synths that don't support it or are inconvenient to configure. It also has a nice filter curve that does velocity response in a more natural way than the voltage controlled lowpass filters typically found in synthesizers. To use it, put it on a track after your synth app, then route a copy of the same MIDI signal you send to the synth app and send it to the filter. That way the filter knows the velocity of each note you play and it can adjust the filter accordingly.
Chorus D is an audio unit effect inspired by a well-loved classic chorus stomp-box.
Gain Stage Vintage Clean
This is a unique take on vintage low-gain guitar amp tone. Rather than modeling specific amps or even imitating them closely, it does something new and unique. When saturated it sounds more compressed but less crunchy than real amps do. It's very forgiving, easy to play, and sounds good for clean and gently distorted guitar tones.
Oscilloscope & Spectrogram
This is the most full-featured oscilloscope available on iOS. It graphs several seconds of audio in real-time and allows you to pause at any time to zoom in where you need to see more detail, or swipe to scroll back and review sound events from the past ten seconds. It also has very unique features for identifying the frequencies and precise MIDI notes visible on the spectrogram.
Multiband Haas Effect
Haas effect is a micro-delay applied to either the left or right channel of audio (but not both). This simple effect creates a realistic and natural-sounding increase in the width of the stereo field that still sounds good when mixed back to mono. It is the most simple and effective way to take a mono input and make it sound like stereo. But Haas effect has some problems. First, it can create phase cancellation problems in the bass.
This is the fastest way to build a drum track. Select from a library of thousands of beats, drag them into the timeline, and press play. Has 36 different drum kits that respond wonderfully to dynamics. Works with electric drum kits and pad controllers.
Drone Tuner is a unique app designed to improve your sense of pitch and your sound. It features beautiful drone performances from professional orchestral musicians, as well as a gorgeous and revolutionary visualization that allows you to visualize your place within a chord
Helix Tuner is unlike any other tuning app because it does not rely on pitch detection. It draws a graph of your sound wave, like an oscilloscope twisted into a circle. The response time feels instantaneous and the visualization is a more complete and accurate representation of the sound you hear, compared to other tuning apps.
Velocity Keyboard is a MIDI controller app that takes the level of expression and playability to a new level. Read the app store reviews from our customers if you have any questions about how good it is. This is one of our best-selling apps.
Nested Notation is an interactive music notation system for coordinating improvisation in a group of musicians. We originally developed it as an iOS app released privately to one customer. It is now available to the public on the web at NestedNotation.com
Tube AU allows you to play YouTube videos from within an Audio Unit host app, routing the audio through other audio unit effects just as you do with any other sound source.
A beautifully-sampled tenor saxophone with true legato sampled transitions between notes. It captures the smarmy and sensual sound of the saxophone sliding around the scale with a sense of realism that no other app has.
A hand-made hemlock flute with a hauntingly beatuiful tone, sampled with embertone's signature true-legato note transitions.
An authentic tin whistle sound a-la Lord of the Rings. Also sampled with true-legato and velocity-triggered ornament articulations.
A genuine Ocarina, sampled in true-legato.
